Featured Green Property – Edward Street Quarter
Business Space, ESG & Sustainability, Offices, Residential
On the site of the former AMEX House, in Brighton, Edward Street Quarter has been jointly developed by Socius, First Base and Patron Capital Partners, with investment from Investec, with a target to achieve a BREEAM Excellence rating.
The new community in Brighton provides 125,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, 20,000 sq ft of food, beverage, retail and leisure units, 168 new residential homes and three new public spaces.
With a major focus on wellbeing, the development will use antibacterial and air purifying paints which work by absorbing CO2 from the environment which leads to cleaner and more climate-friendly spaces.
The new neighbourhood will also boast 16 species of trees as well as 67 plant species and 15,000 sq ft of green roofs which will absorb rainwater and provide better insulation.
To support local biodiversity, bird boxes will be installed to encourage nesting of Great Tits, Blue Tits and House Sparrows in the city.
