The South London office of SHW Property had an important and invigorating day out of the office on Friday 30th September, heading to Bears Wood Scout Campsite, south east of Croydon town centre. There was an excellent turnout from SHW’s South London and London offices with over 20 in attendance.
One team spent the day clearing an overgrown area due to be used for Pioneering . They set about with strimmers, rakes and wheelbarrows clearing and removing the waste before installing new netting to the fence.
The other team scrubbed and polished the accommodation building, with an invitation to come back weekly! If ever there was a stamp of approval...
Due to the shortage of volunteering staff at the Bears Wood Campsite they haven’t had the ability to tackle these tasks over the past 2-3 years. Everyone involved showed outstanding work ethic, energy, and selflessness. The impact we had on site was clear to see and a great reflection of how SHW works.
We all look forward to giving back to our community again in the near future.
