Recently appointed as an Inspire Ambassador, Jasmine is dedicated to supporting early-career professionals. Her mission is to inspire and guide the next generation of surveyors, helping to create a bright future for the profession.

The year kicked off with a lively pub quiz that drew an impressive crowd, featuring a diverse mix of questions, including a property-themed round. The lucky winner walked away with an Amazon voucher, all while enjoying drinks and a delicious buffet at the cozy Inn on the Square. Following that, the excitement continued with a sell-out wine tasting event, complete with a fun cheese-and-wine pairing contest. The winner took home a bottle of red wine, which they generously shared with the group to toast the evening!

The rounders game at Preston Park, hosted in collaboration with RTPI, brought Surveyors and Planners head-to-head in a fiercely competitive showdown. Victory belonged to the Surveyors, and the celebrations continued with delicious pizza and drinks at a nearby pub. Next up, the energy soared with our largest event yet: a sold-out volleyball tournament with 50 participants! Blessed with fantastic weather, the day was unforgettable. After the spirited matches, everyone gathered for a beachside BBQ, followed by relaxed networking and refreshing drinks—a perfect way to cap off an incredible turnout!

The APC speed mocks once again provided invaluable support to candidates preparing for their assessments, playing a crucial role in nurturing the next generation of surveyors. Hosted at a local surveying firm, the event brought together RICS-qualified surveyors and examiners, offering candidates expert guidance and a confidence boost as they approached this pivotal stage in their careers.

Halloween brought chills with the spooktacular Ghost Tour! Venturing down the eerie Lanes, they uncovered gruesome tales of the past that sent shivers down their spines. The night wrapped up with delicious food and drinks at a local pub, making this hugely popular event one to remember.

Closing the year with a bang, the committee hosted the Ultimate Christmas Pub Quiz at The Walrus, where festive cheer and friendly competition filled the air. It was the perfect way to celebrate a year packed with fantastic events and set the tone for even more excitement to come!

A heartfelt thank you to the generous sponsors for their support of the Matrics throughout the year. Their contributions have been instrumental in making the events and networking opportunities possible, these are vital for both aspiring and newly qualified surveyors.
