Teddington – Fire Reinstatement Works

SHW’s Building Consultancy Department recently undertook repair, reinstatement and upgrade works to a chip shop in the Teddington area, as part of an insurance claim on behalf of one of our property management clients following a fire.
SHW were instructed to manage the insurance reinstatement works, which involved a full strip out of the unit, and reinstatement of the ceilings, walls, and floors. Fire compartmentation and acoustic upgrade works were undertaken to the intermediate timber floor structure between the basement and ground floor, as well as the timber floor structure between the ground floor shop and first floor maisonette. The Building Regulation compliant design drawings were produced by our in-house architectural team.
SHW’s services included:

Inspection of the property.

Producing a schedule of works including Building Regulations compliant upgrade works and any client requirements.

Providing CDM, Health & Safety and Principal Designer services.

Liaising with the insurance provider and loss adjuster regarding the works and associated costs.

Contract Administration and Project Management services
The contract length was seven weeks, with the final costs coming in under the initial tender sum of £54,190.
