7 Gordon Place – Internal Refurbishment works

SHW’s Building Consultancy Department was instructed to provide Contract Administration / Project Management and CDM-Principal Designer services in relation to a full internal refurbishment project at 7 Gordon Place, Kensington.
At the point of SHW’s instruction, works had already commenced on site. However, the original contractor had been dis-instructed and works on site had since stopped. As such, SHW produced a new specification, allowing to pick up the works mid-way through and deliver to completion. SHW tendered the works to a new set of contractors, appointed a new Structural Engineer, and Building Control Approved Inspector.
The works included a ground floor extension, complete electrical re-wire, structural alterations, new heating system, window and external door replacement, internal door replacement, strengthening of timber floor structures, a new kitchen and shower room, new bathroom and w.c, forming of art storage space, new fire detection, new floor finishes and decoration works.
The project was completed successfully, and the client is now enjoying his newly refurbished home.
