SHW’s Crawley/Gatwick Building Consultancy team have recently completed fire reinstatement works at Bueno Aires Argentine Steakhouse located at 5 Market Square, Horsham.

Following a fire which started in a first-floor rear storage room, we were instructed to act on behalf of both the Landlord and Tenant to manage the insurance reinstatement works. This involved a full strip out of the affected area, reinstating all the walls, ceiling, floor and undertaking structural roof repairs where the fire had damaged the structure. We were then able to specify, tender and manage the works to fit out of the space to a back to brand new condition.

The contract length was 8 weeks to complete the work and the team completed their project, coming in under the tendered sum of £59,293.00. We were also able to assist with managing the insurance claims for both parties and liaising with the loss adjusters to ensure peace of mind for our clients. As part of the works SHW’s building consultancy included a full redecoration of the inside of the restaurant ready for re-opening in early 2024.

Harry Beyer, Associate for SHW commented “Dealing with a fire is always a stressful time for both Landlords and Tenants. In this instance there were thankfully no injuries because of the fire and only damage to the building. We were happy to be able to provide peace of mind to both parties and work with their respective insurance companies to have the area stripped out, reinstatement works completed and the restaurant up and running again as soon as possible”

James Duffy commented, “Harry Beyer at SHW provided an excellent service from start to finish.  A project such as this requires knowledge and expertise to ensure all parties are satisfied with the process and the end result.  Harry’s professional approach meant that the process and project scope were detailed and accurate, communication was clear, and deadlines were met.  The works were completed to a high standard and on time, ensuring the restaurant was able to reopen as quickly as possible – keeping landlord, tenant and insurance companies happy.”
